Doth my ears deceive me?

Sunday, February 27th, 2005

Apparently Hironobu Sakaguchi (creative guy behind the FF series) is working on 2 RPGs for the Xbox 2, at the company he founded with Nobuo Uematsu last year. Of course it won’t be called ‘Final Fantasy’, but with the two main FF-people (basic direction/concept etc. and music respectively) behind it they will probably be FF in name only (much like FM2005 is the ‘spiritual’ successor to the Champ Man games). I might actually be persuaded to buy one of the damn things.

BF2- who actually knows?

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

As promised I have looked around a bit with relation to BF2’s release date. Play and gamesxtreme are still sticking to 25th March. However, Battlefield Nation says that in their annual financial report DiCE said that the game would be released in June. Since Play have a vested interest in convincing you to preorder RIGHT NOW, I’m inclined to believe DiCE :P Also according to BF Nation, EA Games Espa?a said specifically 26th June, but since I visited they have put a conveniently large boxshot on top of where the release date is supposed to be. I’m guessing that 26th June is a pretty safe bet, but that EA didn’t want to be that specific this early to avoid any more slippage embarassments. Put it this way, 26th June is a helluva lot more likely that Dumbazon’s October.

Battlefield 2 delayed until OCTOBER?

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

According to Amazon, Battlefield 2 is now slated for release on October 7th. Yes, pretty much 7 months after I thought it would be (middle to end of March). Amazon have a bit of a reputation for making up release dates while high on god knows what, so I’ll see if any trustworthy release dates (Gamespot, or perhaps EA if they’re saying anything at all) agree with Amazon and report back. Damn.

Queen snubs son’s wedding

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005

As most of my Uk- based readers will probably be aware, the Queen has decided not to attend her eldest son’s wedding. this is fairly indicative of the Royal Family’s attitude to life.

Put it this way: I’m sure Her Parasitic Majesty would be attending if the wedding was in st. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, but unfortunately they discovered that a marriage license would allow gasp commoners to get married there too, so they have switched the ceremony to some grotty registry office that Her Subjects could stand outside without having Dorgies set on them.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for the rest of us), when I was watching TV this morning the sky news `poll of the day` was showing that people are now evenly split as to whether we even need the queen and her dysfunctional family anymore. We can but hope!

EDIT: Just realised that this is my 50th entry. Hooray :P
