For a variety of reasons (formatting, license restrictions, and various other irritants) I have decided to drop Movable Type permanently, in favour of Wordpress. WP was the very first blog software I tried, however I installed it via my domain Cpanel so it was an old (and bad) version. As you can no doubt see, the latest version (1.5 ‘Strayhorn’) is anything but. It says at the bottom ‘Spontaneous Monotony is proudly powered by Wordpress’. Its a default message, but it’s true so I’ll leave it in. Wordpress has more functionality, and is more attractive, than Movable Type, and I have always tried to support the Open Source movement (Get Firefox button coming soon!). OK, so I don’t get to use TypeKey with it, but since none of my commenters have ever used TypeKey I don’t see that as a problem. Welcome to the new blog!
