Britain to deport its enemies… now there’s a novel concept

Charles Clarke (the big-eared politician who brought in top-up fees and has been just as un-Labour as Home Secretary) has announced his cunning plan (sic) to defeat terrorism: deport foreigners who support them. Now, as you might have gathered from previous posts on this blog, I am about in favour of human rights as it is possible to be, however there is no human right to stay in a country of which you are not a citizen.

Foreigners are allowed to stay here for as long as it is convenient to us, and we can kick them out whenever we feel like it. That’s the central point of this- even if does curb free speech slightly, British citizens will be entirely unaffected by this change (of course extreme conduct by Brits could fall under crimes such as Incitement to Murder). It’s about time they got round to this!
