Minor upgrade

Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

I’ve upgraded from Wordpress 2.0 to Wordpress 2.0.1. It’s an utter waste of time really, Yahoo-loving Akismet is still bundled, and the bloatware ‘post preview’ still can’t be disabled. But of course they use a whole load of single-character/single-line changes in the backend (that nobody but PHP geeks give a damn about) to inflate the ‘number of bugs fixed’.

Blair loses ‘Religious Hatred Bill’ division by ONE VOTE

Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

This isn’t really news seeing as it happened last night and just about everybody knows about it by now, but it’s good to see Parliament finally starting to carry out its actual constitutional role (rather than just approving whatever the government tells it to) after around 30 of Blair’s yes-men were booted out at the last election, especially when MPs do so to protect our fundamental human rights. Good under normal circumstances, but when the defeat is only due to Blair himself not bothering to vote, it becomes FUNNY AS HELL. I actually hope that Blair continues for as long as possible – every day he remains in the job makes the Labour party more ridiculous, and increases the chance of a Lib Dem or Tory victory at the next election.
